Semper Fi Fund summer news letter 2017 featuring Michaels story.
This is a audio blog that my music therapist and myself recorded last fall that released on 25 January 2017 with support from the National Endowment for the Arts: Creative Forces Military Healing Arts Network. In this audio blog, I describe my rehabilitation at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, specifically how music therapy helped in my recovery process.
Semper Fi Fund Has provided me with an amazing skill to assist with my recovery. Please visit their site by clicking on the link above and consider donating to help other Veterans on their road to recovery.
In FY 2017, the NEA and Department of Defense expanded its military healing arts program into Creative Forces: NEA Military Healing Arts Network. The Creative Forces program places creative arts therapies at the core of patient-centered care at 11 clinical sites, plus a telehealth program and increases access to therapeutic arts activities in local communities for military members, veterans, and their families. The program is also investing in research on the impacts and benefits of these innovative treatment methods.
